Torrescalla is an intercollegiate hall of residence for men, situated close to the Politecnico of Milan, and well-connected by public transport to the Universities and institutions of higher education in Milan.
Social and cultural life is much enhanced by the well-balanced body of residents, from Italy and other countries, who are studying a large variety of subjects in different Universities.
With the provision of good study conditions, Torrescalla has always attracted keen students and academic results have been consistently above the average. First-year students can avail themselves of the experience and guidance of older students and graduates. Study weekends, reading parties and vacation courses are also arranged.

The primary purpose of the process is to assess the candidate's suitability for Torrescalla, although the candidate will also be assessing the culture and the style of Torrescalla. The process is based on a single round of interviews, taking place in given days.

Scholarships and financial aids are available in order to make Torrescalla affordable for any motivated and brilliant student. Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione RUI have established 6 reduced fee accommodations for foreign students in the Residenze located in Milan.The fee reduction consists of 4200€ and it is granted to the students that will enroll in the academic year 2012/2013 in a Laurea Magistrale (post-graduate) degree of Politecnico di Milano. The 6 places will be assigned on the basis of the academic curriculum of the candidates, which will be evaluated by Politecnico, and the admission test held in the Residenze of Fondazione RUI.
